You may encounter different error codes while
setting up your Roku account. If the error code 014.40 appears
on your Roku TV screen, it means that there is some network or connectivity
problem. It indicates a network issue that your Roku TV could not connect to
the wireless network. The following could be some of the possible reasons
behind this error:
- Incorrect
WiFi information or password – Most of the time, it is either the WiFi
password or SSID. You should have a secure WiFi connection in order to
access the Internet. If the information you entered is not correct, you
won’t be able to access your Roku TV account, and this type of error will appear.
- Mac
Filtering – You should check if the mac filtering for your router is
turned on or not. If it is turn on, there is a possibility that your Mac
id is banned. Your ISP might have banned your connection for the Roku
device.
Follow the following steps if this error code
appears on the screen:
- Click on
the settings menu on your Roku TV with the help of the remote.
- Open
System
- Select
Advanced System Settings and then click on Network Connection Reset.
- In some
models, a code will be displayed on the screen. You should enter that code
in order to continue with the reset process.
- After the
process of reset is done, you will have to restart.
- You will
need to connect to a new network.
- Click on
Wireless or Wired option. Tap on whatever type of connection you have.
- Search
for your WiFi name through the list. Enter the details and the
password.
- Then
click on the connect option.
- Wait till
your Roku Tv connects with the WiFi.
The Roku error code usually is
fixed after this process. If it is still not solved, you can try disconnecting
Roku from the console. Unplug both router and Roku from the socket. Plug them
in after a time of two minutes. After that, connect it to the console and see
if the issue is fixed or not.
